For years, I lived by the keyboard. Just like any other young person. Always using shortcuts Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Alt+Tab like the weapons in my daily work battles. The mouse was like an ornament which I never wore. Why move your whole arm when your fingers could do the job in milliseconds?
Then, something changed.
My touchpad failed and I found myself one morning reaching... for the mouse.
And reader, I didn’t hate it.
In fact, I liked it. Like old people.

Immediate question was - Am I getting old?
Well course I am. But this old that I am enjoying using a mouse. Concerning.
Suddenly, scrolling wasn’t just practical, it was pleasurable. Hovering felt luxurious. Clicking? Oh, the clicking. Zooming in on a spreadsheet with the scroll wheel? Euphoric. It was like my workday had discovered a soundtrack. I was aware of all these features of course, but always felt my world runs on my fingers.
I even caught myself doing the unthinkable: using the mouse to copy and paste. Yes, with the right-click menu and everything. Old me would be horrified. New me? Blissfully ergonomic.
The mouse, it turns out, isn’t slow.
So here I am, a convert. A click-happy, scroll-obsessed, right-click-redeemed corporate employee. I still love my shortcuts, don’t get me wrong. But now, I am letting the mouse lead the way.
I am not afraid to say that I feel more productive with every click. I have been blaming my laptop for being slow.
The moral? Never underestimate the power of a well-placed click.
You never know.
